CHESTER TWP. FIRE RESCUE

Chester Twp. Fire Rescue, founded in 1943, provides both fire and emergency medical services to the community of Chester Chester Twp. Fire Rescue Inc.Township as well as mutual aid to other surrounding communities. The fire department began as an all volunteer organization and has evolved to now provide twenty-four (24) hour a day station staffing with part time personnel. The department also has a full time Fire Inspector who oversees the Fire Prevention Bureau. The Fire Prevention Bureau is responsible for building inspections, fire prevention programs, open burning compliance, and investigating fires. Personnel are certified in firefighting and emergency medical services and many hold advanced certifications in specialized training.

The department’s vehicle fleet consists of 3 Engines, 2 Tankers, 3 ALS Squads, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Grass Fire Truck and 1 Utility Truck. The Fire Chief is the head of the department and is assisted by a staff of officers who manage and supervise personnel and the daily operations of the department.
