Oil and Gas wells are a big issue in Chester Township. Therefore, the township would like to provide additional resources to better inform its residents about Oil Wells. The links on the bottom of the page are great resources for information on Gas and Oil Wells in Chester. There are two links to  booklets published by the Geauga and Lake County Soil and Water Conservation Districts. They are very informative on topics such as what items to include in a gas and oil well lease, and how the permitting process for an oil well works. It also contains contact information for the Geauga County ODNR Mineral Resource Inspectors.
