The Chester Township Board of Trustees met in regular session Thursday, July 14, 2005 in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 7:00 p.m.  Chairman Charles R. Stevens presided.

 

Mr. Stevens appointed Jim Montague, clerk pro-tem.  Mrs. Ianiro was present to record the minutes of the meeting.

TRUSTEE DISCUSSION

 

2005-376      Mr. Stevens moved to approve a Resolution adopting the Geauga County a

Hazards Mitigation Plan Representing Various Political Subdivisions in Geauga  Cnty.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-377      Mr. Stevens moved to appoint Al Parker, Andrew N. Chess, Ron Cotman,

Ken Radtke, Jr., and David Magden to the Citizens Advisory Committee for a one year period beginning July 1, 2005.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote: Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-378      Mr. Stevens moved to sign Cemetery Deed and Cemetery Deed Record 

Book for Lot 434, Sites 1,2,3,4 in Section C to Barbara A. Leach, Chester Township.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-379   Mr. Stevens moved to sign a Pay Phone Service Agreement with the Public

Communications, a division of SBC Communications, Inc.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-380      Mr. Stevens moved to approve Chester Township’s Police Department’s

Policy Approval for Public Records, Retention and Destruction.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

CLERK’S FOLDER

 

A review of the Chester Township 2006 Tax Budget was discussed.

 

2005-381      Mr. Stevens moved to approve the 2006 Tax Budget as provided by the

Chester Township Clerk and forward the Budget to the Geauga County Budget Commission for their review and approval.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-382      Mr. Stevens moved to approve the Primary Bank Reconciliation – post, as of

6/30/05.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-383      Mr. Stevens moved to transfer $4,000.00, Road and Bridge Fund, from 

Appropriation #2031-760-740-0000, machinery, equipment and furniture,       Appropriation #2031-330-221-0000, medical/hospitalization. Mr. Montague

seconded. Vote:   Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-384      Mr. Stevens moved to transfer $10,000.00, Road and Bridge fund, from

Appropriation # 2031-760-740-0000, machinery, equipment and furniture, to

Appropriation # 2031-330-410-0000, office supplies.  Mr. Montague seconded.

Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-385      Mr. Stevens moved to approve and sign Purchase Order #PO 74-2005 to

Pease-Kerr-Canfield Insurance Agency, 224 Cherry Street, P.O. Box 769,

Chardon, OH 44024 for Boiler & Machinery Renewal Policy #PM824, 8-19-

05 to 8-19-2006 with Mutual Boiler, out of Appropriation #2081-210- 381-

0000 and sign a voucher warrant #VW47520 for $783.00. .Mr. Montague

seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-386      Mr. Stevens moved to approve and sign Purchase Order #PO 75-2005 to

Truck Service, Inc. d/b/a Cleveland Springs, 3140 Morris St., Indianapolis, IN 45241 for the repair of broken rear springs on Truck 16, out of Appropriation #2031-330-323-0074 for $1,700.00.  Mr. Montague seconded. Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-387      Mr. Stevens moved to approve and sign Voucher Warrants #VW 47474

through #VW 47519 and #VW 47521 through #VW 47528 and void #VW

47529 and #VW 47530.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote: Unanimous. Motion passed. The ending number on 7-7-05 was #VW 47473 and the beginning number on 7-14-05 is

#VW 47474.

 

OPEN FOR PUBLIC QUESTIONS

 

There were a few questions from latecomers regarding the budget and the date of bid openings on the demolition of a structure at 9144 Mayfield Road.

 

Chairman Stevens remarked that he had visited with newly appointed Asst. Prosecutor

Eric Drake who will be representing our township and also Rebecca Schlag, Asst. Prosecutor on various zoning items, including the Sulak matter.
