The Chester Township Board of Trustees met in regular session Thursday, April 14, 2005, in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 7:00 p.m.  Vice-chairwoman Patricia M. Mula, presided.

 

Trustees Mula and Montague present.  Mrs. Mula appointed Mr. Montague Clerk pro-tem and asked Mrs. Fende to record the minutes.

 

PLEDGE

 

The Board led the audience in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

PUBLIC INPUT/QUESTIONS

 

There was no input/questions from the audience.

 

TRUSTEE DISCUSSION

 

2005-186.    Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign Application for Use of the Chester

Town Hall Meeting Room on Sunday, April 24, 2005, from 12 Noon to 6:00 p.m. for

interviews with students for scholarships by the West Geauga Kiwanis.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-187.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign a letter to the County Commissioners for their support for Chester Twp. at a liquor hearing.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-188.Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign letters to the Chester Park Dist.,

WGCJRD and Mr. Al Parker inviting them to attend a trustees meeting to discuss who     

will take the lead role in development of the Chester North Park.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-189.Mrs. Mula moved to approve $805.00 payable to IPMA (International

Public Management Assoc.) 1617 Duke St., Alexandria, Va. 22314, from account

#2081-210-599-0000.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

CLERK

 

2005-190.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign Road Dept. Payroll Time Sheet dated April 9, 2005.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-191.Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign Purchase Order #32-2005 to

Illuminating Co., Akron, Ohio, for $20,000.00 for street lighting from account

#1000-310-351-0000 and sign Voucher Warrant #VW 46894.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-192.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign Payroll Warrants #PY 46464 through 46499; (Clerk’s note:  please see memorandum attached regarding skipped Warrants #46500 through 46879); Payroll Warrants #PY 46880 through 46890; Voucher Warrants #VW 46891 through 46893; Voucher Warrants #VW 46895 through 46899.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

The ending # on 4-7-05 was 46463; the beginning # on 4-14-05 is 46464.

                         

2005-193.Mrs. Mula moved to approve $149.50 payable to Western Reserve

 Office  Supply, Chardon, Ohio, for one Deckside Seven-pocket Classic Hot File from account #1000-110-410-0000.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

OFFICE STAFF AND ZONING INSPECTOR

 

Mrs. Mula noted that she has requested from Mike Joyce, Zoning Inspector, Mary Lou Fende, Administrative Assistant, and Marie Roche, Assistant to the Clerk, a tentative vacation schedule for 2005 so the Board can work around the schedules to best serve the community.

There being no further business before the Board, Mrs. Mula adjourned the meeting at 7:26 p.m.
