The Chester Township Board of Trustees met in regular session Thursday, January 6, 2005, in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 7:00 p.m.  Chairwoman Patricia M. Mula, presided.

 

Trustees Mula and Montague present and Clerk Austin.

 

PLEDGE

 

The Board led the audience in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

BRETT BELLAS, GEAUGA COUNTY PARKS DISTRICT

 

Mr. Bellas was present to introduce himself and to explain the features of the Geauga Parks District to the Board for the publics use of their facilities.

 

CLERK’ S FOLDER

 

2005-1.    Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign Road Dept. Payroll Time Sheet dated

January 2, 2005.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

 

2005-2.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve $10,000.00 to Arms Trucking, Burton, Ohio, for slag and cinders from Fund 2031-330-420-0000.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-3.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve $10,000.00 to Osborne Concrete and Stone Co., Grand River, Ohio, for limestone and #9 gravel from Fund 2031-330-420-0000.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-4.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign Payroll Withholding Warrant #PW 46668; Voucher Warrant #VW 46000; Payroll Warrants #PY 46669 through  46704; Payroll Withholding Warrants #PW 46705 through 46715.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

Clerk’s Note:  The ending number used on 1-30-04 was #46667; the beginning number used on 1-6-05 is #46668.

 

2005-5.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve $200.00 payable to Network Management, Chardon, Ohio, from  Appropriation Account 1000-110-319-0012, Other Professional and Technical Services – Computer Technology Services.   Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-6.    Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign a letter to John Swartz on his

reappointment on the Board of Zoning Appeals.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-7.  Mrs. Mula moved to approve an additional 8 hours of pay for the Assistant Road Superintendent Terry Varner from his 2004 vacation balance that was overlooked in the Clerk’s Office.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

2005-8.Mrs. Mula moved to approve and sign Deed For Cemetery Lot and the

Cemetery Deed Book for Kenneth W. Welsh, Chester Township, for Lot No. 409,

Sites 1 and 2, in Section C of the Chester Township Cemetery.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.

 

 

 

POLICE DEPT.

 

2005-9.  Mrs. Mula moved to accept the resignation of full-time dispatcher Theresa Bowers at the Chester Township Police Dept. with a last day of work being January

15, 2005, upon the acceptance and recommendation of the Chief of Police.  Mr. Montague seconded.  Vote:  Unanimous.  Motion passed.  

 

Chief Orosz updated the Board on possible changes in the Police Department in the future.

 

Mrs. Mula addressed the increase in dollars for the BWC for the Township as a whole.

There being no further business before the Board, Mrs. Mula adjourned the meeting at 7:29 p.m.
